3rd update - Invert Camera, Better UI, Sounds, Gamepad ...


For this update, I've:

  •  Successfully added footstep sounds with Wwise
  • Made the Pause menu a bit nicer
  • Added invert camera option in pause menu
  • Added gamepad functionality

After a bit of work, I also got that community version of UE4 built successfully for making an HTML build. The problem now is that the version of Aire is currently 4.26, and you can't straight up downgrade an entire project to an older version of UE4 (The HTML version is 4.24).

While working on that, I'll also spend time making things nicer when it comes to options for the player. The first 2 steps in that direction were adding the gamepad and adding the option to invert the camera controls. I plan on having it to where you can control the sensitivity of the camera (since right now it's kind of slow with the gamepad). I'll also split the X and Y axis for inverting the camera.

I added in footstep sounds! I hope they sound ok, let me know what y'all think. I went with a rough sound for it, since the current landscape for the dragon is rocky. For the curious, it's not just one sound, it's several in a random container within Wwise. I also always set the pitch to randomly change between certain values, so it'll never sound exactly the same hopefully. (Fun fact: I made the sounds by just bopping my mic).

Aside from regular implementation, I've also been refactoring code and Blueprints (for efficiency, cleanliness and my own sanity). So that's where some of my time has gone to as well.
